ABOUT US

ACTION Fitness is owned and operated by local Lilburn residents, Greg and Lisa French. We combine the essence of sports performance enhancement, wellness training, nutritional education and personal fitness in group, semi-private and private settings. Located in Lilburn, GA, we cater to the needs of every individual from the very young to the very young at heart. Our programs have been designed to enhance your performance no matter what your goals; from the devout athlete to the non-athletic and everyone in between. Our group camps are centered around individuals with common goals which increases motivation, determination and gives you an inner support circle.  For those who prefer individual instruction, we offer personal training sessions designed to suit your needs whether its weight loss or sports performance, we can accommodate your schedule.

Barbara is the newest member to our Action Fitness family. A lifelong student of yoga, Barbara Greenberg continues her love of the benefits of practicing yoga as a certified Kripalu yoga instructor.  Since receiving her certification in the summer of 2003, she is active as a teacher not only with the Community School at Parkview High School, she is also involved with the Gwinnett County Wellness Program in Georgia, and teaches classes twice weekly at that county courthouse.  She has held this position since receiving her certification.  

With training in both Yoga Kids and Yoga Fit, Barbara is able to provide students with a playfulness and a physical experience while embracing the inner teachings of a yoga practice.  Kripalu yoga is a gentle hatha-based style which encourages an inner attitude of self observation -where there is no judgment, allowing the student a flowing state of awareness to be present in the mind.  This awareness allows one to become fully present and encourages the experience of being fully emerged , alive in the moment.  
Barbara's students receive the benefits of all that a yoga practice has to offer; flexibility, strength, balance, and peace of mind.  Flexibility begins in the mind and with that opening ANYTHING is possible.  It is through the simple process of slowing down the mind that her students are able to become more centered, less stressed in their lives and are able to cope with the challenges presented to them.They have an awareness of taking on life  -one breath at a time. 

Barbara has been awarded Gwinnett County Community School Teacher of the year for 2010, and in 2008 she created a program for the teachers at Parkview High School called "Pay it Forward Yoga" where she volunteers an hour and a half  a week teaching the participants yoga. The participants in turn do something for their favorite charity or cause in their community and "pay forward" this gift  in some way. 

She is mom to daughter Gabrielle and is currently working on a book "Grieving with an Open Heart" to assist those on this journey.  The book is her heartfelt work and an attempt to assist those who have experienced the sudden loss of a loved one.  Her inspiration comes from her own experience with the loss of her son Joel in the summer of 1990.

Her life- is a work in progress.   


Greg is a Registered Licensed Dietitian and Certified Personal Trainer who graduated with honors and a BS in Nutrition from Georgia Southern University; he also completed a year long dietetic internship at Emory University. In addition to working with renal and diabetic patients, he has served on several committees including the Childhood Obesity Prevention Board for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, he is Certified in Adult Weight Management and is a Youth sports coach.  Greg has over 17 years of experience in the health and wellness industry.   

Lisa is a Certified Personal Trainer who spent many years working in "corporate America" and decided to follow her passion for helping others achieve success.
 She is also involved in the local youth athletic programs and volunteered her time to the recreational cheerleading squad and baseball.  She has a passion for health and fitness and making a difference in the lives of adults and children.


                   

  

WHAT IS ACTION FITNESS?
We are NOT a typical gym.
We are NOT your typical Personal Trainers.
We do NOT run your typical Boot Camps. 

So, what are we???  What do we offer exactly???

At ACTION Fitness we train the F.I.T.TM 
way using Functional Interval TrainingTM. There are no routines to learn, no one screaming in your face, no worrying about if you are able to keep up with the others or if they are able to keep up with you.  We have designed the F.I.T. ProgramTM
 to fit everyone's needs, and we make sure that no matter what fitness level you are at, you WILL get an awesome total body work out EVERY TIME. Since we are not a gym, we have no heavy machinery and our classes are small so we can focus on EVERY ONE

You will never be handed a "body builders" diet, because our meal plans are designed by our
REGISTERED and LICENSED DIETITIAN and can be professionally customized to fit YOUR specific medical and nutritional needs. Don't want to follow a meal plan?  No problem, you don't have to.

Our goal?  To help you get and stay healthy and motivated. It doesn't matter if your goal is to lose weight, gain weight, tone up or add to your exercise training regiment...we will help you achieve your goals.
